our story

Comfortable, contemporary, stylish surroundings and friendly service together with fresh food with a Mediterranean flair have made Le Pisani a truly local delight.

Le Pisani was founded by Maltese Chef Ray Pisani in 2014 at a different location. In 2017, Le Pisani was faced with the opportunity of opening this restaurant, in the sea side town of Seaton. After a lot of work, this became reality with the help of Darren also a Chef, and his wife Rosabelle who came all the way from Malta to setup this restaurant with (Darren’s Uncle) Ray.

Le Pisani Seaton is managed by Darren, the help of his wife Rosabelle and a superb team of local talent.

Together we bring a true taste of the Mediterranean to Devon.

our Roots

Particularly known as the George Cross Island, the sunny island of Malta is conveniently situated in the middle of the Mediterranean sea, with its unique palate traditions and the use of various herbs to boost the flavours in every dish. The island’s strategic position between southern Europe and the northern coast of Africa, together with the close proximity to Italy, offers a superb cuisine.

You deserve nothing less than the best and so we use Brazier, a Somerset based Speciality Coffee Roasters company.
Why is it called speciality coffee you may ask? Speciality Coffee is a superior coffee in simple terms, a speciality grade has to score 84 or more on a scale out of 100 for flavour. Brazier coffee is 100% speciality grade and can be easily traced right through the supply chain.

We have finally managed to bring some classics from our home country, MALTA!
After seeing the demand for these delicious items we had to bring them to you in Seaton.

"Pastizzi" a variety quite similar to the traditional British pasties but using a crunchy filo pastry instead. These come in many flavours, both sweet and savoury.
An award winning Beer; the Cisk Classic, Cisk Excel which is a worlwide award winning low carb beer and the Flavoured Beer varieties such as Berries, Lemon and the refreshing Ginger & Lime.

We couldn't forget the original soft drink of Malta, Kinnie. Kinnie is made with Oranges and Herbs being not too sweet but very refreshing, a taste of the sun and the Mediterranean breeze.

Rumour has it that Kinnie was a favourite with the Royal Family, when just after the second World War  Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth lived in Malta.

‘GelaRto’ by Menodiciotto is the result of over 30 years gelato-making experience by Luca and Sonia Grassi of Turin, Italy. The Grassis started ‘Menodiciotto Produzione’ in 1986 to make the world’s tastiest gelato using the abundance of delicious fresh ingredients found in the Piemonte region of Italy. GelaRto is our trading name in the UK and USA.

Our gelato is still made in Turin today, but we travel further afield to  source quality ingredients from across the world, such as Sicilian lemons and vanilla beans from Madagascar. Each gelato batch is made from scratch using nothing but the finest ingredients, including fresh, whole fruit wherever possible, blended with pure, crisp Piemonte water, or creamy, fresh milk from our own herd of dairy cows.

The only preservative we ever use is very cold air – something we have plenty of in the Italian Alps.

Our Gelato also comes with Gluten Free, Non-Dairy and Vegan Options.

One of our specialities is the Gelato Milkshakes…
